Our team of 9 wonderful college students, 1 fearless Children's Director, the handsome College Director, and his precious wife have made it safely to Johannesburg, South Africa! We landed last night, after 18 hours of flight, enjoyed a delicious meal at the hotel, and then all TRIED to get on this time change. The time difference is 7 hours so you are all still asleep probably. We all ended up messaging each other at the wee hours of the morning to compare our sleeps (or lack of). Currently, everyone is embracing their last moments of wifi, their last fully hot shower, and packing up. Our flight to Zimbabwe is a short hopper flight so praise the Lord for that. Funny story from our long flight: one of our lovely ladies, Bailey B, was missing her neck pillow. She searched high and low and it was nowhere to be found until she decided to turn around. The man behind her was asleep with her bright colored, big pattern neck pillow on. So Zach boldly asked for it back and the guy said, “oh um it was in my lap when I woke up.” So that was the awkward moment of the flight.
I talked to Norma (our Zim host) this morning and she said to keep doing our rain dances! There was a big storm last night on the farm and the drought season is over! We may be playing in the rain all week, but no complaints here. In Zim, rain means life and clearly that's what we are all about!
Please pray for our team as we are all a little groggy and ready to be there. Pray for our group's relationships with each other to grow. That we would encourage one another constantly and love like brothers and sisters. Also, we start our conversations in the community tomorrow morning! Please pray for us as we lead Sunday school and church. We crave that the Lord would be seen and heard through us.
WE LOVE YOU ALL!
Talk to you just now!
