We believe that life is made up of three conversations:
A conversation with Jesus
A conversation with each other
A conversation with the world
Greetings Southbridge family!
What a challenging time this has been for us all. The impact of Covid 19 has been pervasive in every area of our lives. If you need specific prayer or assistance, please email us at email@example.com.
On Friday, President Trump made a public announcement urging churches to immediately reopen. While we agree that the corporate gathering of God’s people is essential to both the church and the community, this announcement could cause some confusion about Southbridge’s plan to move forward. A statement by the President doesn’t mean that we are prepared and ready to immediately open. There is a list of guidelines that need to be complied with before the church family can gather in our facility.
Since March 13, our staff and elders have been concerned with the safety and welfare of our family of faith and our community. In April, we determined not to gather in our facilities during May. This would allow us to evaluate progress in our state and local community to determine what to do in June. Over the last few weeks, our leadership has been prayerfully planning and preparing for our return to corporate worship. On Wednesday, May 27, the elders will gather to make decisions on moving forward, and we will announce those plans on Thursday, May 28.
As we move forward, there are several commitments that we make:
1) All decisions will be filtered through prayer, spiritual wisdom, and medical guidance. Our focus will be on ensuring the physical and spiritual health of all of our congregation.
2) We will gather together in person for worship when we can ensure compliance with the guidelines for church gatherings and our facilities are prepared.
3) We will continue to stream our services to engage those unable or uncomfortable to join us in person. If you are sick or medically fragile, please do not take undue risks to endanger yourself and others.
4) We will continue to pray for one another, to share life together as we are able and are comfortable, and to seek to engage others with the message of hope in Jesus. Let us pursue the unity of the body and the expansion of God’s kingdom even during this time.
Southbridge is not merely a physical facility, but we are a spiritual family. Our desire and heart is to gather together to worship our King in a safe environment as soon as possible. Pray for us to have wisdom on how to move forward. Pray for God to provide workers to serve as we begin to gather. Pray for opportunities to share and show God’s love every day. We are God’s bridge for the Boro. Be a bridge today.
In Christ’s love,
Pastor Todd and Southbridge Leadership
